Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might wonder
Straight answers on how Sounth works, what stays free, and how your plant data is handled.
Yes. All core plant care features — watering, fertilizing, and custom care reminders, one-tap schedule updates, the Plant Guide (90+ species), the plant journal & photo timeline, AI Health Scan, and local/Google Drive backups — are completely free for up to 5 plants. There are zero ads, no pop-ups, and no trials that quietly auto-charge you.
Most plant apps try to guess when your plant needs water using generic algorithms, which often leads to overwatering. Sounth puts you in control: you set the care rhythm based on your home and soil, and Sounth reminds you to check. If you water a day early or a day late, one tap updates the schedule from that day forward.
Sounth has two optional upgrades, and you only pay for what you actually need:
- Unlock Collection ($19.99 one-time payment): Unlocks unlimited plants in your garden forever. No recurring subscription just to track more pots.
- Smart Sensor Analytics ($20 / year): Connects Sounth hardware soil moisture sensors to your plants for real-time hydration tracking and dry-soil push alerts.
Your plant collection, photos, and care history are stored locally on your device first — we never sell or track your personal plant data. You can export a full ZIP backup to your phone anytime, or turn on automatic Google Drive Backup in Settings to seamlessly restore your garden when switching devices.
If you spot a yellowing leaf, brown tips, or unusual spots, open your plant in Sounth and snap a photo in the Health tab. Sounth analyzes the leaf right on your device to help diagnose common watering, light, nutrient, or pest issues and saves the report to your plant's history.
You can still add any plant to your collection with custom care reminders. Inside the Plant Guide search bar, tap Suggest a plant to send us the species name — we regularly add new species and push guide updates directly to the app.
Sounth is currently live on Android via the Google Play Store. An iOS version is in the works — follow us on Instagram, X, or Discord to hear when iOS testing opens.
